A few blocks from the office with the early Spring setting sun and I couldn't ignore this scene.
the Harmon's grocery
Across from the Harmon's grocery is my second bus stop. I've become obsessed with this roof line which is of the Harmon's. I've shot it multiple times - and this time is no different.
Ilford HP5+ - no crop - self developed.
Corvette
The parking lot, with a light drizzle made the hood of this "vette" really shine.
Nikon F100 - Ilford HP5+ and 50mm f1.4
OC Tanner addition
While visiting OC Tanner as apart of a site visit - I took this. FFKR Architects was wrapping up some of their final inspections and handing everything over to the owner very shortly.
Ilford HP5+ ISO 400 - Scanned with a Konica Minolta Dimage 5400
Back Alley
I take the camera with me everywhere. And it's nice my Wife is understanding and keeps a good attitude as it usually means an extra piece of luggage or bag I have to carry. This day was like no other - I had the camera, and as I drove into the parking garage to the UPS Store - this appeared.
Shot on the Nikon F100 with Ilford HP5+.
Disney Bus Stop
Waiting for the Buss - shot with the CoolPix P330.
Student Life Center - U of Utah
University of Utah - Student Life Center shot on Ilford and home developed and scanned. As with all of my images, when developed, no crop.
The bridge
I’m back on 120 film with this image. Shot in December at the University of Utah bridge. I didn’t take notes of what I shot it with but I would bet it was the Yashicamat 124G.
Only recently have I had the battery re-built on the Rollei 6008 - so I’ll be posting what I’ve shot with that much more in the future. That Rollei is a gem now !
The big Negative
I run a constant battle between which format of film I shoot or choose to shoot.
I really like the big negative which is why I really love the 120 format, aka, Medium Format - or if you are really old skool you may call it 2-1/4. 2-1/4” which is the square format of the negative in inches.
But — I also have my Nikno F100 body in 35mm. Scanning the 35mm is super easy- and I love that. And the body is easy to carry around from place to place — and I have many lenses to choose from.
FIRESTONE
This was shot on the Nikon F100 with Ilford HP5+ and developed recommended with DD-X.
Digital -- what ??
It has been a while since I have posted something from the V1 Nikon. A model of camera of which I love and one which I hope Nikon will update with a V4. I hope very soon.
This image is from Disney Land - December 2015. Native monochrome.
an Early Morning
This is Yellowstone in the early morning - and a great way to beat the crowds. Most others are trying to figure out their day ahead, or maybe just taking it easy. An early wakeup, a piece of fruit and a cup of coffee is all you need.
Madeline and I started making our way to each stop as the Sun was on its way to rise.
Photographers are standing on the walk way - waiting for geyser to shoot.
Dress Form on Film
An ornamental steel wire dress form transformed by my wife into a living outside ornament. The lower half is stuffed with dirt and the frame is with flowers to bloom throughout the Summer.
It's really quite nice when it all comes together.
Rolleiflex 6008 - with Fuji film - developed with Arista Liquid Color home kit.
Scanned on a Nikon 6008 at 4000 dpi.
Yellow Stone - 2015
This was taken the Summer of 2015. But I can't remember if this was from the Rollei 6008 or the Yashicamat124G.
Self developed and scanned - all in house.
Holga Pan 120
Shot last Summer in a remote area with the Holga 120 Panorama. I feel sorta fortunate to have one now - as production has ceased. None are made anymore.
Leica M6
Last August a friend let me borrow his Leica M6 - it was wonderful.
SBux on State
Taken at the Starbucks on State Street; it is one of my favorites. It was a grab shot while waiting in line for service.
I was so hoping she wouldn’t look up - and she didn’t.
It matches the frame of medium format film perfectly.
No crop - Kodak Portra 400.
Yellowstone in Color
One of my favorites from this last summer - shot on some expired Fuji RPH400, in the Rollei 6008i
Yellowstone NP
Yellowstone National Park - Old Faithful Inn.
A wonderful place and magical where the facility has been updated to todays standards but visually kept to look original. Shot on Ilfords Delta 400 with a Rolliflex 6008i. Ilford's Delta is a wonderful film stock which has a resolution much crisper than their HP5.
Back of Town - Twin Falls Idaho
Shot on a Rollei 6008i, mid Summer of 2015 with Ilford Delta 400 - early morning to capture the dramatic angle of the sun. Home developed and home scanned with a Nikon LS-8000.
There is a lot going on in this scene - and I'm happy with it's outcome.
